1. The students will practice counting up and down a vertical scale and associate addition with counting on.
2. The students will continue to practice counting up and down on a vertical scale and writing 2 addend equations.
Students will gain practice counting to 20, adding whole numbers and using math symbols. The students will gain practice and come to understand that forward movement on a number line, upward movement on a vertical scale, and an increase in set size are ways of representing an increase in quantity, which can be described by an addition equation.
