4. The students will recognize that when object is removed from a set, the set size

decreases by one.

The students will gain practice and understanding in identifying set size, recognizing that when 1 object is removed from a set, the set goes down 1. They will begin to use counting to make precise comparisons, which will create a foundation for later work in addition and subtraction.
